Rules and Regulations
AGE DIVISION / CATEGORIES
Children A: 8 years old and under
Children B: 9-12 years old
Youth A: 13-15 years old
Youth B: 16-18 years old
Artist: 19 years old and above
The category of the applicant is determined by his/her age on the application deadline. A clear and legible copy (either physical or electronic) of one of these documents is acceptable as proof of age and/or identity: birth certificate, passport, driver license and any other government-issued identification.
REPERTOIRE AND TIME LIMIT
Children A: One or two pieces from standard repertoire (3-4 mins)
Children B: Two pieces of contrasting styles (4 mins)
Youth A: Two pieces of contrasting styles (4-6 mins)
Youth B: Two pieces of contrasting styles (4-6 mins)
Young Artist: Two pieces of contrasting styles (7-10 mins)
The Preliminary Round
Application Deadline: May 3rd, 2019
Contestants may also upload video to YouTube or send an electronic version/ YouTube link by email.
Performance from memory is required
Date and Location: May 11th, 2019 at Jordan Kitt's Music (11726 Parklawn Dr, Rockville, MD 20852).
(FINAL CANDIDATES will be notified no later than May 18th, 2019)

Final Round (International)
Date and Location: July 20th, 2019 at Levine MD Campus.
Application Deadline Application and Fee Due: May 25th, 2019
Final Round Application Fee: $65
Results will be posted on our website. Invitation letter will be sent by 11pm on July 12th.
***All AWARD WINNERS will be invited to perform in Gildenhorn Recital Hall at University of Maryland on July 27th, 2019.

***UMSC offers all the winners a flat fee at only $100 for the material and service cost provided as below.
